The acting profession is extremely competitive and it can take years
before even the most talented and fortunate performers make a living in
their chosen profession. In the meantime, it is critical that actors
and actress continue to work on developing their craft.
Most actors and actresses
accomplish this by performing for free in any available chance they
get, while most of our aspiring actors here always kick off their
chances by asking for money even before they reach camp.
The opportunity to act free is where your real professional training
begins; irrespective of the qualifications or acting academy you passed
through.
Same thing with (us), 'aspiring writers'. They'll be
hiding their script like the most priceless thing ever, when you cajole
them to show you, you'll be disappointed its not even a good work after
all. And will not then have the keen to correct or express opinion.
As an aspiring actor/actress, bear in mind that any opportunity given
to you in any production is your real professional training, anything
else as at this time comes as a bonus. Jobs will come knocking on your
door once you are able to please your audience.
Some of us even
make the most stupid mistake of rejecting one roles for a more pleasing
one. Think of how to creatively win your crowd with any little role.
